LMS Vintage Set Bridge Pickup (Local Musician’s Special)  -  Give your strat type guitar a road trip back in time to 1958, for less than you might spend on a tank of gas. This pickup is based on the published winding specs of a 1958 example, though it is made with 60's style grey bottom flatwork and magnet sizes to match the rest of the LMS set. The tonal character of these is good for blues, rock and roll, country, praise, or just all-around playing.  They have a clear, bell like, pure vintage kind of tone. All of the specifications have been thoughtfully chosen based on much research and experimenting to give you maximum versatility and best overall value in a vintage toned replacement strat pickup. This pickup is intended for the bridge position. The bridge pickup often gets the most play, and needs more output for that location. It is wound with either 8350 (standard) or 8700 (slight overwind) average turns of vintage correct heavy formvar insulated wire. Many vintage 50's examples measure in the 5.6k to 6.2k ohms range. I wind these to match the example, which was 6.2k. or about 5% over that average, just enough to give a little touch of the Texas tone without losing any of the vintage 50's sound. Or you can choose the slight overwind option to boost it to about 10-12% over the vintage average. I've also updated the magnet stagger pattern to work better with modern string gauges and fingerboard radius. This pickup will compare well in quality, tone, and features to any vintage toned strat pickup on the market, regardless of price point. Though intended for the bridge position, it can also be used in the neck position when a slightly hotter neck pickup is desired for example in a superstrat with a humbucker in the bridge.

For value, this pickup is machine wound like most of the mid 60’s and later models were, but unlike the 60's factory machine wound models, these are specially programmed by CNC to simulate vintage style hand winding patterns, determined by carefully unwinding good sounding hand wound examples.  The rest of the specs are also quite vintage with no shortcuts taken, and no cutting back on features.  I'm pretty much unknown right now so this pickup is being offered at a bargain price as my way of introducing myself. But don't let the introductory price fool you, it is top quality. I invite you to compare this pickup to similar products from other independent pickup makers costing almost twice as much or even more. The introductory pricing won't last forever, so take advantage of it while you can.
